Nurse Practitioner Karla Lebedoff steps into Kids First Pediatric Partners each morning exhilarated and inspired to deliver the highest quality individualized pediatric care. Karla joins our practice following six years of pediatric nursing, including NICU, inpatient general pediatrics, primary care, school nursing and case management. Prior to that she spent nearly a decade in journalism prior to realizing her passion for keeping children healthy.

“I’ve been supporting the success of kids throughout my entire career, and now I am thrilled to join a practice that steadfastly advocates for their wellness by promoting best practices, collaboration, education and relationships to offer the best for our kiddos and their families.”

Karla’s special interests include eczema management, behavioral and mental health, newborn and early childhood guidance, sleep and nutrition.

Most of all, Karla looks forward to developing lasting relationships with Kids First families.

“Being the ‘new kid’ comes with challenges, but I hope the Kids First community will soon discover my deep passion for pediatric health and wellness and trust that I will work my hardest to achieve that for their children.”

Karla earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Illinois at Chicago. She is certified in Pediatric Primary Care. She earned a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in English.

Outside of Kids First’s walls, Karla can be found with her husband chasing a toddler and a preschooler, each insisting on being faster than the other; she enjoys every minute of it. Karla’s favorite activity is reading to her kids.
