Nurse practitioner Karen Gentile

Nurse Practitioner Karen Gentile has two decades of experience as a pediatric NP and as a nurse. She worked for several years at Kids First as one of our first nurse practitioners on staff and was often a favorite among kids and parents alike. Karen and her family moved to Colorado, and she is now joining KFPP virtually again to lead our nutrition program. Visits with NP Karen are on telehealth.

Karen’s goal is to listen carefully and provide excellent care. She specializes in weight management and also has extensive experience in general pediatrics and can help with any concern parents may have. In the past 13 years, she has developed multiple nutrition programs to help children overcome overweight, obesity and picky eating.

Karen was host of the KFPP pediatric podcast and led our nutrition program in the past. She’s worked in all areas from the ER to ICU to primary care. She’s worked all over the U.S. and even on mission trips in Haiti and Mexico. Karen is mom, a wife to a firefighter and she still works in a hospital in Colorado.

Karen is licensed in the state of Colorado, Illinois and Texas, certified in BLS and PALS and is board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
