What’s summer without of pile of good books to read? Whether your child is a reader or not, our local libraries have fun summer incentive programs to get all kids reading as much as possible. Many of the programs below allow non residents to join. Plus, you can join as many programs as you want.

Chicago Pubic Library: Kids up through age 18 are invited to Explore and Roar with Rahm’s Readers Summer Learning Challenge. Get wild about summer learning as you explore the world of animals. We’ll have lots of opportunities for you to read, discover and create this summer. Come by any of our 80 locations for exciting family programs throughout the summer.

Niles Public Library: Niles features reading programs for kids and adults, with an option to participate online (ideal for families or kids traveling!). After reading a certain amount, kids will be able to play our GIANT board game and win prizes! Your goal is to visit the Library at least 9 times this summer. Be sure to sign up before July 28 to complete the game. Find out more.

Evanston Public Library: Evanston’s program is for kids and adults as well, with prizes for every age. Sign up at any library location. Find out more.

Morton Grove Public Library: Kids ages birth through teens are invited to join the Morton Grove library reading program. Collect punches throughout the summer and earn great prizes! Find out more.
