Kirsten Hollett who joined KFPP in 2018

Dr. Kirsten Hollett’s pursuit of her passion for children’s healthcare is continually fueled by the joy children bring to the office and the support of a cohesive team.

In pediatrics, she particularly enjoys the opportunity to partner with families throughout childhood. She revels in the full spectrum of pediatric care – from the excitement and challenges of firsts in the newborn period, to the unique aspects of care for teenagers. As a mother herself, she values parents’ expertise in their children’s individuality and appreciates the privilege to share her medical expertise to optimize the child’s growth and development. She says, “Our goal is to get kids on the best trajectory we can, and when they shift off their potential, to step in with an opportunity for change.”

Dr. Hollett has a particular passion for weight management and healthy lifestyle change. After conducting novel research into children’s and teens’ perspectives on weight conversations with healthcare providers, she has gained new insights in this challenging topic. “We are finding youth are interested in personalized recommendations and having some autonomy in the discussion.”

Dr. Kirsten Hollett joined Kids First Pediatrics in 2018. She attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. where she studied Biochemistry and Psychology. She then went on to Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at The University of Chicago Medicine’s Comer Children’s Hospital.

She and her husband, Brian, love running, finding new restaurants in the city, and are inspired by the energy and joy of their young son, Graham.
