Splash Park Fun
Free + Water fun = Perfection
Good thing Chicago and the North Shore is filled with splash parks! We’ve gathered a few for you to try.
River Park: Located at the convergence of the Chicago River and canal, River Park offers a rich wildlife habitat, excellent fishing and a canoe launch. There’s a free swimming pool (check the schedule because the hours are random) and an interactive water playground.
The Glen: Located near the Kohl museum, on Chestnut and Patriot Blvd., this great park includes the perfect splash park for little ones.
Mary Bartelme Park: The children’s play area at this West Loop park is ADA accessible, which allows for inventive, non-linear play without traditional play equipment
Indian Boundary Park: A great little splash park offers kids a chance to cool off after exploring the newly-opened nature playground (located in the old zoo area) and the old school wooden play structure. There’s also a duck pond and native plants area, with a great bike path. Your kids can even bike through the splash park!
Margaret Donahue Park: New to the Lakeview area, this park boasts a splash park plus Cubs themed play equipment–which pretty much means you won’t find Dr. Cathy anywhere near the place!
