Be prepared for overseas travel!   If you are planning to leave the country, it is time to think about a Travel Visit.

With so many families traveling to places all over the world, we want to help your children travel safely and make your preparations go smoothly.

When you contact our office, we will direct you to fill out this Travel Consultation Intake Form.

Our nurse practitioner, Pat Lawrence, CPNP and our nurse Nicki Mancini, RN will review this to see what your child will need.

Recommendations may include a visit with the nurse for vaccines, or a full travel visit.

full travel visit includes vaccines if needed,   and prescriptions for any medications including education about these. The visit also includes education about food and water safety, insect bite protection and preventing/treating common illnesses such as traveler’s diarrhea.

Facts to know:

Contacting us 6 weeks before your travel is ideal. Some people need vaccines that we do not carry and that may be in short supply. It may take time to find these for you

For infants older than 6 months, a measles vaccine and a Hepatitis A vaccine are often recommended.

We don’t include the Travel visit with other appointment such as well visits.

Just as with other medications, we do not prescribe travel medications over the phone. The Travel visit includes education about why these medications are recommended and how to properly take them.

lease call as soon as soon as you know you are traveling!

Safe travels! Delia Groza, CPNP
