We’re working hard and getting very excited to launch a new program later this summer at Kids First. Under the direction of Nurse Practitioner Karen Gentile, Fit Club will be five-week series of fitness for kids and classes for parents. Monday evening programming will include a kids’ fitness class while parents discuss ways to improve diet, increase exercise and reduce screen time. Families will receive meal plans, recipes, charts to keep track of daily meals and snacks, and kids will have an individual screening appointment with Karen at the beginning and end of the session. We hope to give kids and families the tools to live a long, healthy life.
Fit Club is for children who have a BMI over 80 but do not have other health issues, such as diabetes.
